RELAXATION TO GENERATE SPEED, CONSERVE ENERGY AND EVADE ATTACKS QUICKLY
Nino Pilla taught me about generating speed in striking. He used driving a motor vehicle as an example. He said that you cannot generate speed in a car with the brakes or tension on you must release the brakes or tension to generate the speed.
So when you are practising your martial arts techniques by shadow boxing relax your whole body, let all the tension go in your muscles then practise your martial arts forms slowly, gentle and softly like they practise the forms in Tai Chi without any tension or stress and become fully accustomed to it.
The next stage is to practise using this relaxed striking movement against a form of resistence. Stand close to a punching bag. Then place your palm against the punching bag. Then slowly and gently push into the punching bag staying completely relaxed. You will find that you can move the punching bag quite a bit. The same thing applies to when you are standing next to someone and you want to give them some incentive to go away and you place you palm on their chest and give them a little shove. When women fight each other they look very vicious. They do not use brute strength like a man they stay relaxed and slap you. And it stings. That is why it’s called a “bitchslap.”
WARNING: Never execute the following striking technique to a person’s vital organs. The strike penetrates through the body and can rupture the vital organs killing the person. ONLY PRACTICE THE FOLLOWING TECHNIQUE ON PUNCHING BAGS OR WITH FOCUS MITTS.
Bruce Lee said that a push is a lazy punch. I thought to myself, “OK Bruce, now you are speaking to me in Tao Te Ching!” So I used my reason. I am not meant to be focusing on the pushing movement but the punching movement. So what if you reverse that saying. A punch is a push that has a little bit more effort. When striking, either with the hand or foot, start off completely relaxed. Then the striking movement is a very short split second twitch or tension of the appropriate muscles used to execute the strike then after the strike makes contact you immediately go back to being completely relaxed. With continuous practise you will eventually generate more speed and the extra speed contributes to doing more damage. You must only tense the fist solid just before the moment of impact then straight after the strike connects relax the hand again. Do not aim the strike at the surface of the target as then the surface is all you will damage. You must aim through the target, about 3-5 inches past the target so the strike penetrates inside the body.
This method of fighting means that you are always relaxed, soft and supple except for the short, sharp spilt second twitches needed to execute the strikes which helps you conserve energy and fight for longer periods. The relaxation works the same way for evading attacks with speed like the relaxation needed for the movement of striking.

NINJUTSU MEDITATION TECHNIQUES




Christians know the energy of our body as the Holy Spirit. The Chinese called the energy of the body Chi energy. The Japanese call the energy of the body Ki energy. Through light measuring technology, science has proven that the energy of the body expands or radiates outside of the body somewhat.
The Japanese Ninjas use mind meditation techniques to expand the Ki energy outside the body to form a protective shield around them. When an attack penetrates the Ki energy shield it gives off a bodily sensation as a warning sign of the incoming attack. The reason this happens is because the energy is connected with the body and when the energy gets disrupted it affects the sensations in the body. When practising this training I would get a tingling in my temporal lobe of my brain that is the mini Brain for the five senses.

A ninja defender would kneel on the floor while a ninja attacker would stand behind the defender with a wooden sword. The ninja attacker would slowly thrust the sword forward as if to stab the defender in the back and when the defender feels the bodily sensation he has developed he would roll out of the way. It is said that 75% of the time the technique works.
The meditation is quite simple. Kneel on the floor or get in a comfortable position. Keep your eyes closed and picture your whole body a clear glass vessel. Picture a ball of white light in the centre of your head. Then slowly start expanding the light so that it fills your head. Then picture the white light slowly filling the rest of your body, moving down into the torso then filling your arms and legs. Keep doing this until your whole body is completely filled with light. Then picture the white light slowly expanding outside your body to form a shield around you. This meditation must be done slowly and gradually because then it has more chance to be effective.
The reason the meditation works is quite simple. Your mind controls a physical body. That means your mind also has the power to control basic energy in the body. Your mind is thoughts, or God. Your thoughts or God is non material yet controls a physical body. So God can do anything. Your mind is God so your mind can do anything as long as you are completely filled with God’s Spirit. Your thoughts (God) direct your life and everything you do. Your thoughts (God) in theory has the power to make anything come into existence by merely thinking it into existence. This is the power of God’s knowledge and wisdom – the power of good thinking, right thinking, just thinking and positive thinking.
